KIDS TAEKWONDO

Children's Taekwondo 6-12: One-hour classes where students learn the taekwondo skills that correlate to their belt level. Punching, kicking, blocking techniques, forms, rolling, and falling are taught. Once students reach the black belt, they will learn weapons and hapkido. Our focus is on building strength, integrity, and true confidence.

All of our weekly classes are taught in a positive and high-energy atmosphere with an emphasis on hard work and character building. Children learn to communicate with peers and adults while cultivating friendships and long-lasting relationships.

The Martial Way in Meridian is a family-run studio and prides itself on having a solid family environment. Students learn how to respond correctly to their instructors, parents, and peers. Invest in your children and give them the lifelong gift of confidence with true martial arts taekwondo training!

Results and growth with every class. Studying martial arts is ideal for young children. It provides them with an outlet for their energy. But, it also teaches them about respect, discipline, and other core values that will go with them beyond the studio. Traditional Taekwondo classes teach kids to control their movements and behavior, and they’ll learn social skills and interaction at the same time!

Start your child with a foundation in traditional martial arts from an ELITE Taekwondo training facility. Traditional martial arts training will give your children quality attributes that will be with them for the rest of their lives!

TEEN TAEKWONDO

Teens train together twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 pm. They learn martial arts in a positive, high-energy environment where teamwork and perseverance are a part of every class!

Teens need to have a positive outlet for stress and anxiety. It has been proven that physical training reduces stress and helps with a better night of sleep.

Students will learn the traditional Korean arts of Taekwondo and Hapkido. Punching, blocking, kicking as well as falling, and rolling are a part of every class. Hapkido offers close-quarters defense with joint locks and submissions.

We also practice situational awareness and conflict de-escalation. Learning how to recognize and avoid conflict is key to raising a confident teen.

With teenagers, this is a critical time in their lives, so we want to give them the internal strength to stand up for themselves and their beliefs. And we want to reduce the likelihood of them ever becoming a target of abuse of any kind!

All students will learn self-defense skills- beginning with conflict avoidance. Situational awareness is key to avoiding confrontation. If action is required then learning the appropriate response is important. We teach martial arts as a self-defense system, not as a sport. We cover solutions for stand-up and ground defense as well as dealing with multiple opponents.

Help your teens gain the discipline, focus, and confidence they will need as they head out on their own and are given more and more freedom. You get to be at peace knowing that your teens are making sound decisions and are aware of their surroundings.

WOMEN’S SELF-PROTECTION

This program is for any woman who refuses to be a victim of violence! Who are women defending themselves against?

MEN! Two kinds of men fall into this category: known and unknown.

Our Urban Self-Protection program starts with a game plan that was developed by Lee Morrison, founder of Urban Combatives. Ninety percent of true personal self-protection is a mindset.

This is not your “normal” self-defense class that tells you if somebody grabs your wrist then do this technique. Those techniques do not work against real violence. The only way to deal with violence is with extreme violence, which starts in the mind.

By putting a “game plan” into place, you will greatly increase your chances of ESCAPE. By practicing this game plan through scenario training you will dominate your attacker with Impact and Attitude.

First Saturday morning of every month at 10 am.

Cost: The first class is free and only $10 per class after.

URBAN SURVIVAL-MEN & WOMEN

Our Urban Self-Protection class is for men and women who have a desire to to protect themselves from violence perpetrated by evil people with bad intentions. This personal security program focuses on the same game plan found in Urban Combatives. We sharpen awareness skills and learn to implement effective situational control concepts. Pre-emption skills are introduced and practiced through scenario drills. We train to meet violence with extreme violence, implementing a continuous attack until the offender is down. Finally, the end goal of any altercation is to quickly and safely escape the scene.

All of this can be accomplished with the proper mindset and regular training. Ninety percent of effective self-protection begins in the mind and is kept fresh by attitude.

This class meets on the first Friday evening of every month. Registration is required as space is limited.

No uniforms or belts, just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Women are $10 per class.

Men are $20 per class.
